During the KOGS 12 week programmes the young people work towards a Bronze Arts Award qualification. There are 4 sections of the Arts Award, one of which being Art Exploration. This involves the girls exploring a form of art. One of the most popular form of art that the young people like to explore, is photography. They take part in a photography workshop, before using a professional camera to take pictures using their new-found skills.
One of the ways we like to tie in the KOGS topics into the Arts Award qualification is to get the young people to take pictures that relate to the knowledge they’ve learned about healthy/unhealthy relationships, different forms of abuse etc. The KOGS team thought it would be a good idea to use Barbie dolls as props to set the scene in the pictures and the results turned out pretty good!
